STEAMPUNK

Here at Corset-Story we're extremely proud of our Steampunk collection. It's one of the most dynamic parts of the range, and we see it as a fashion trend we want to be involved in- hence the wide (and growing) range of steampunk corsets, skirts, and costumes. Expect to see leather and leather-look, studs and buckles, rivets, and the occasional chain, all with a distinct steam-era flavor.

The literary genre has never been more popular and the same goes for steampunk fashion. It has made its mark at sci-fi conventions and live action role play events, but steampunk has now erupted into the mainstream. It's on the streets and it's definitely in the clubs, and there's even a hint or two on the catwalks these days. And why not? It combines olde worlde charm and manners (and snappy dressing) with younger ideas.

Not least amongst those ideas is gender equality. Steampunk women can kick just as much butt as their male counterparts and the costumes reflect that. Nobody messes with ladies in leather corsets. Unless that's what the ladies in question want, of course.

In the world of steampunk, strong women are sexy. They're equals or leaders. They certainly aren't stuck at home embroidering or reading romance novels, but that doesn't mean they can't wear good costumes too. The outfits you see here are modelled on the ideal steampunk heroine - practical but ornamented, tough but attractive. They're able to handle any adventure, from a horseback chase to a new love interest.
