Corset tutus and skirts

A corset needs to be worn with something. Underbust models are usually worn with dresses or blouses but even if you've just purchased the overbust corset of your dreams you still need think about the bottom half of the outfit (unless you opt for a corset dress). Is it going to be a cheeky tutu or a traditional skirt? Knee length, shorter, or longer?

For many, the corset tutu is the burlesque option of choice. It's full of life and volume, and is feminine without looking too demure. They're anything but boring and also extremely comfortable to wear.

Longer skirts are ideal for wearing with more formal corsets, or with Victorian-style pieces. The quickest and most effective way to make your own period costume is to pair a floor-length skirt (not too closely fitted) with a simple blouse and corset. Skirts with heavy pleats and even bustles are even better, although you might not find so many other uses for these.

If formal evening wear is your goal you can use a similar skirt but go sleeveless. The Victorians would have been shocked but this is one way to get an instant, perfectly fitted ball gown for a special night out.  We also have a great range of steampunk-style corset skirts. These are options for the lady adventuress on the go- practical but stylish, with just enough ornamentation to make you stand out from the crowd.

We've also got what might be considered the queen of corset skirts, designed specifically for the Can-Can. From above, it looks like a standard, neatly made skirt with plenty of body, but underneath it's a riot of ruffles and color.
